A financing milestone, not an operating result

On 30 September 2026, the European Investment Bank announced €100 million in financing for Dama Solar, a planned photovoltaic plant in Romania's Arad County. The EIB describes a planned peak capacity of about 1.3 GWp and an estimated total investment of €728 million.

What developers can take from this

Our interpretation: large PV developments are shaped by more than module selection. Financing structure, grid connection, land use and the route to selling electricity all affect the project brief. Those questions should be settled with the relevant developer, lender and network operator.

  • Separate announced capacity from completed generation.
  • Document grid-connection and permitting assumptions.
  • Keep equipment specifications tied to the actual project requirements.
